Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Alicia Walter
After a five year absence, she has returned to purchase the practice from Dr. Michael Moore. So, it is with sadness that we have to say goodbye to Dr. Moore, while thanking him for all he has done for Stafford Oaks.
Dr. Walter graduated with honors from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She practiced here at Stafford Oaks from 2000 to 2004. Then she spent the next five years practicing as an emergency and relief veterinarian while starting her family. Her areas of interest include nutrition, complementary and alternative medicine. Dr. Walter and her husband Robert are the proud parents of four children, two dogs, three cats and an umbrella cockatoo.
Dr. Mike Brady: As a college student, Dr. Mike Brady worked at Stafford Oaks as a V
eterinary Technician, while completing his B.S. Degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1988, he rejoined the staff as an Associate Veterinarian, working for Dr. David Guitar. Over the past 22 years, Dr. Brady has helped many animals and continues to do so today. Dr. Brady is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of work, Dr. Brady spends time with his wife Laurie and black Labrador “Coach”. He is also an avid fisherman, competing in several tournaments annually as well as he plays softball and basketball in area leagues.
Heather Puksta, DVM:
Dr. Heather Puksta joined Stafford Oaks Veterinary Hospital in February 2009. Dr. Puksta graduated from Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She has a special interest in osteoarthritis and pain management. She has several certifications and memberships supporting these special interests, as well as, being a memeber of the Disaster Preparedness Committee with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Puksta and her family moved here from Washington State in 2007. When Dr. Puksta is not serving the pets of Stafford Oaks, she enjoys spending time with her husband Josh and her stepdaughter Kierra, taking photos, traveling and participating with the Arthritis Foundation of Houston and Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness in honor of Kierra. Dr. Puksta has two dogs, a Boxer named Cannon and a Lab Mix named Mason, and one cat, Ranger as well as two red eared slider turtles and an aquatic frog.
Dr. Samuel Stanley: graduated from Auburn University in 2004. He worked for 3 years in
a Mixed Animal Practice in Pine Mountain GA, and one year at a Emergency Clinic in Indianapolis IN. Dr. Stanley likes to go mountain biking, fishing, and camping. He lives with his wife Kristi (who is also a veterinarian doing a residency at GCVS) and 8 animals. 4 dogs (Moose-Basset Hound, Dingo-Mix, Dodger-Lab, Harley-Mix) and 4 cats (Darwin, Derby, Dot, and Kricket). He is originally from Rineyville KY and completed his undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University. Dr. Stanley was raised on a small beef cow farm and he loves large animal medicine. His long term goal is to buy a farm for cows and horses and raise a family on it.
